What was the inspiration behind the shoot?
With everything that's currently going on in the world, many couples are changing and reconsidering their plans to fit within the government rules. My main inspiration was to show couples how stunningly beautiful a smaller, more intimate wedding can be, even if its just ten of your closest friends and family. We wanted to have a very luxe winter vibe with unique elements waved throughout.
Tell us a little bit about the venue and why it was chosen?
Chaucer Barn is such a unique venue with so many options inside and out for weddings. It gives you complete freedom to create the wedding you want and you can be creative as you like. It’s so beautiful, the rooms and grounds are just dreamy. It's very intimate too, having your guests be able all to stay together in the barn or their new lodges which are very special.
What did you choose for the flower arrangements?
After chatting to the amazingly talented Sharon from Myrtle and the Bee we wanted to keep in with the winter style and she suggested what flowers would work for the look we wanted. She went above and beyond; she wanted to create a fantastic flower waterfall which cascaded down the balcony onto the table. It was a massive statement and gave a wow effect; it was breathtaking.
What kind of look did you want to achieve with the make-up, hair and outfits for the bride and groom?
We kept with a very dreamy winter feel for the make-up and dress. I think long sleeves are just gorgeous. The suit suited the winter barn style too. The hair we wanted to keep classic, simple and elegant.
What was the thinking behind the décor for the shoot? How did you tie it all together?
It's all in the detail. It's about quality, rather than quantity. I wanted to show that couples looking at smaller guest lists that they can have a genuinely remarkable and chic wedding. You can go all out on your closest guests. We wanted to make the table unique by filling them with lush foliage and flowers, then adding lots of beautiful candle lighting to make it warm and cosy.
