Wedding planner Lena Hansen of Nordic Adventure Weddings tells us about the couple’s big day:
How did they meet?
They met at the concert in Chicago, in July 2017.
Tell us about the proposal:
The proposal was at a concert, one year after they met each other. Same place, same date - just one year later.
How did they choose the place to get married?
After looking at small intimate weddings abroad they loved nature, and are an adventurous couple, so Nordic Adventure Weddings was exactly what they were looking for. It was an adventurous day where we took the couple around the islands with private guides and the whole day was covered by an adventure photographer. The location of the wedding was in Maribo, Demark by a lake - it was a very peaceful place with a 600-year-old cathedral beside it.
Tell us about the details:
Our weddings are eco-style and nature-based weddings. We also use natural adornments instead of decorations. For this wedding we used a bonfire (as it was January) and old Scandinavian folk-songs inspired by Viking-style weddings. Tricia and James also travelled to Berlin to see historical attractions.
