Twenty venues across the New Forest are opening their doors for a wedding showcase on 13 March to help inspire couples planning their big day
From luxe country hotels to treehouses and medieval palaces, there’s nowhere quite like the New Forest to hold a wedding.
Just two minutes from the end of the M27 motorway or 89 minutes by train from London Waterloo, with more than 20 venues, a backdrop of ancient woodland, stunning scenery, roaming wildlife and charming villages, the Forest is a great location to say ‘I do’.
From intimate outdoor gatherings through to twilight weddings and even treetop receptions, there is a package to suit every bride or groom, and every budget. With woodland weddings having a bit of a ‘moment’, where better to set the scene?
To help happy couples make that choice, the New Forest is holding a wedding showcase on Sunday 13 March from 12pm to 5pm. Twenty top New Forest venues will be open to showcase their beautiful wedding options and help inspire the perfect wedding day.
To make it even easier there’s no need to book an appointment. Couples can just turn up on the day and view the luxurious venues the majestic New Forest has to offer.
These include the 18th century Bell Inn at Bramshaw, The Master Builder’s Hotel, where couples can get married on the banks of the privately owned Beaulieu River, and The Domus at nearby Beaulieu; a place where Cistercian monks used to wander the serene cloisters and is now decorated with richly-embroidered tapestries telling the Abbey’s story.
Rhinefield House Hotel near Brockenhurst is licensed for outdoor ceremonies and can hold wedding breakfasts for up to 130 people, and Christchurch Harbour Hotel’s venue offers views of the sea.
Among a number of packages, Careys Manor Hotel in Brockenhurst and Forest Lodge near Lyndhurst offer vintage themes or, for five-star luxe, try Chewton Glen near New Milton, where there are four different venues available plus exclusive use, including their celebrated treehouses.
The New Forest’s newest wedding venue is The Barn at Burley Manor, which re-opened as a restaurant with rooms following a complete makeover. The Barn is part of the Manor’s wedding offer, which includes exclusive use packages and Mediterranean-themed food.
For those wanting a magical woodland wedding, Greenwood, a meadow at Sandy Balls, is an ideal setting for a laidback marquee reception or celebration.
Ceremonies can take place at Sandy Balls’ Woodside Suite or the Forest Lodge.
With its collection of well-appointed small hotels, self-catering establishments and cosy B&Bs able to accommodate any number of guests, the forest is able to fulfil every wedding requirement, from the grandest to the most intimate of occasions.
From caterers who subscribe to the New Forest Marque for local food, to florists who understand how to create just the right look, and with nearly every venue offering its own wedding planner, the Forest is teeming with organisations and people who can’t wait to make a wedding special.
Want to make a weekend of it? Many venues are offering accommodation deals for visiting couples for the event, too.
