A rustic and nature themed party wedding in Mexico
26 Mar 2021
Audrey and Francisco tied the knot in Morelos, Mexico
Wedding planner Evelyn Paz of Event Flow by Evelyn Paz tells us about the couple's big day which took place in March 2020:
How did they choose the place to get married?
They were pretty sure that they wanted some place in Morelos; therefore we searched for venues which fit perfectly in what they were looking for - natural landscapes, comfort for their guests, also proximity to hotels.
Does the couple follow a specific religion?
The ceremony was catholic, and the priest who led it was a friend of the family from a long time ago; so the ceremony became truly personal to the couple.
Did the couple have any special request for their wedding?
They really wanted to party - and so they did! The ceremony started at 1pm on Saturday and the last guests dancing finished at 3am on Sunday morning. They also wanted their guests to feel very comfortable all the time with beverages all night long. We got to an open bar during the wedding, starting at the cocktail hour, finishing at the last dance song. The guests had finger food, then a meal. In the middle of the afternoon we opened the Candy Bar. At night, we opened the Cheese Bar, immediately after the fireworks show was finished, and before the wedding ended, they enjoyed "Tacos al Pastor". They pampered their guests by giving them personalized hand fans for the ceremony and the rest of the party; then they gave them can openers for the beers at the cocktail and so they could take them home, and once the dance floor was open, they gave the ladies flat shoes so they could dance without pain.
How did you come up with the concept of this wedding?
The color palette was based in neutral colors with the pampas and peach, as well as a mix of greenery and neutral items with wooden items. The catering vendor offered us a wide range of furniture. I chose this decor, because it was a reflection of the couple: they are free, natural, simple, united - even though they're different - but most importantly they are one of the couples most in love, I've ever seen. After the fireworks show, the party needed an extra punch to get back on the track again... the band with drums was using water and lighting and the couple got involved and started playing.
Tell us a little bit about this destination – what differentiates it from other places?
Morelos is the state with the largest number of weddings in Mexico due to its weather. It is known as The Eternal Spring and the Flora are grown in excess and beauty.
What was their impression of the wedding?
They were amazed by the decoration, the timing, the rhythm and the service from all the vendors. They really enjoyed every single moment of their wedding and many guests came by to congratulate the excellent team worked we achieved.
