Michelle and James like to be beside the seaside!

Michelle and James held their big day down in Dorset and had a seaside theme to match their location

Michelle Fosbrook, 28 and James Moore, 30 both from Stevenage held their wedding at the Harbour Heights Hotel in Poole. ‘It was the perfect location for us,’ says James. ‘We had the service and the reception at the hotel so guests didn’t have to worry about transport between venues.’

‘Dorset has always been one of our favourite places so it made sense to get married there, plus my nan lives down there so we know the area well’ says Michelle. ‘And obviously as were by the sea we wanted to go with a seaside theme.’

The theme was even taken through to the cakes. ‘We had seashell candles and starfish gems on the tables and then our cupcakes were green, white and pink with seashells and starfish on top,’ says Michelle. ‘Everyone said how lovely they were and they almost looked too good to eat.’

‘I suppose you could even say the bridesmaids dresses went with the theme,’ says Michelle. ‘They were a soft, sea green.’ Michelle didn’t have any trouble finding her dream gown. ‘I fell in love with my dress the first time I saw. It had a corseted top and a big skirt and as soon as I tried it on I had that princess feeling,’ says Michelle.

The couple met back in 1999. ‘We had a bit of an online romance,’ says James. ‘Michelle has always been a bit of a whizz when it comes to websites and she set up her own site in college so I went on there and chatted with her.’ They got engaged in 2008 and have been planning their perfect wedding day for the past two year.

‘We made our own invitations,’ explains Michelle. ‘That took quite a while and a lot of trips to craft shops but it was worth it because they were so individual to us.’

Husband and wife-to-be had a very special guest at the wedding – their beloved VW camper van, Pickle. ‘She had to be part of our big day too,’ says James. ‘We’ve been doing her up for a while and so she was the perfect wedding transport.’

The couple made the most of their seaside location and after the ceremony they went down to the nearby beach to have photographs taken. ‘We drove the short distance to the beach the campervan,’ says Michelle. ‘It was so lovely – people were beeping, waving and calling out to congratulate us the whole way there.’

‘We were both very nervous on the morning of the wedding,’ James admits. ‘But everything went perfectly and so we needn’t have worried. I did get the wrong finger when it came to the all-important ring part but I don’t think anyone noticed.’

The day was made extra special because eight of Michelle’s family and friends from Australia travelled over for the occasion. ‘To have everyone together was just wonderful,’ says Michelle. ‘It made our perfect day complete.’
