Harnessing the tealent of Sol Tamargo of Del Sol Photography, Susana and Jovany's wedding wishes came true when they married in the water off the coast of Cozumel Island.

The couple were originally told a wedding ceremony in the water wasn't possible, but Sol helped the couple to realise and achieve their vision.

Susana said: “We had a wedding planner who told us: 'You can’t get married in the ocean, it’s much too complicated'. So we thought, OK, we’ll get married on the beach like everyone else. Then we met Sol. She told us: 'You have to do it. You have to get married in the water, it will be amazing'. This entire vision all came about because of Sol… she’s the one who turned the dream into a reality.”

And while making it a reality proved a challenge, the couple managed to have the wedding day they always dreamed of. The 100+ guests were moved to the ceremony location in the water using two boats and a catamaran, while Sol overcame the threat of getting the camera equipment wet.

She said: "We were flying a drone from a moving boat. I was shooting with two large underwater camera housings; it was technically very challenging as I couldn’t really see. Polly, my assistant, was shooting without protection for her camera and as the tide came up, she was left standing in the middle of the ocean with her arms above her head to save her camera."

The resulting photographs made all the effort worthwhile, with the backdrop of the crystal clear blue water offering a dramatic finish.

Mermaid bride, Susana, looking sensational throughout in a blush Maggie Sottero gown and pearl and shell crown. Commenting on why she wanted a wedding in the water, she said: “I have always loved the water. I’m a scuba diver and was fortunate enough to grow up with a pool in the backyard and the sea not far away. My happiest days were always in the water.”

Encouraging future brides- and grooms-to-be to fufil their wedding day wishes, Sol said: "I pray that the universe sends me lots more crazy brides that want to do crazy things. Don’t hesitate or overthink it; if you have an 'impossible' dream, share it with us. We can’t wait."
