Engaged couples, many accompanied by friends and family, began to queue out of the door before the show opened.

Outside, Cambridge Wedding Cars showed off their fleet of stunning luxury wedding cars, including a Bentley S2, Bentley Arnage, Jaguar MKII, Land Rover Defender, Range Rover Vogue and Jaguar E Type.

Goody bags, containing treats from a number of the exhibitors, were gifted to the first 100 brides on both days of the event as they walked through the doors of the charming and rustic Knebworth Barns.

Beneath a canopy of twinkling lights, more than 60 exhibitors from across Hertfordshire waited patiently with smiling faces eagerly ready to discuss their products and services as well as answer questions and offer advice to visitors.

Becky of Becky Harley Photography said: “Today has been really good and I will definitely be back next year. I’ve even met some of my 2020 booked couples here today.”

Based in Hertfordshire, Becky’s style of photography is relaxed, fun and magically captures those real moments of the bride and groom’s big day.

“My advice for couples on choosing the right photographer would be to book early,” says Becky. “I started getting bookings for 2020 back in May 2018. Also think about, not only how you want your pictures to look, but also how you want to enjoy them afterwards. If they are left on a USB stick in a drawer they can get forgotten about, so invest in a wedding album to display all memorable moments.”

Meachen & Shorey Photography, Natalie Chiverton Photography, Dotty Photography, Lyndsey Challis Photography, Belle Momenti Photography, Nikki’s Moments Photography and The Reportage Company were also on hand to offer inspiration for couples to help capture those everlasting memories of their big day.

The return of the sensational choreographed catwalk show captivated guests with five scenes and a finale of bridal fashion from Birdcage Bridal, Ann Bridal and Ivory & Lace, mother of the bride and groom fashion from Cream, and groomswear from Chimney Menswear and Mr Mackys Menswear.

Sharon Cousans, owner of Chimneys Menswear, said: “Double breasted waistcoats, tweed and tails are all very popular at the moment, with many looks inspired by the royal wedding. With a suit, you can make it your own style and more grooms want to stand out. Using grasses, greenery and feathers instead of flowers for your buttonhole is a great way to add something unique to your outfit. Knightsbridge Neckwear supply our fabulous ties and they are a great way to add individuality.”

Bethany Williams, manager of Birdcage Bridal, said: “Lace continues to be a top trend; however detachable elements on gowns have started to become more popular with brides, such as detachable sleeves, skirts and trains. It’s a great way for a bride to change her look throughout the day.”

Bridal dress brands on the catwalk from Birdcage Bridal included Ronald Joyce, Eternity, Paul Zinni, Kenneth Winston, Enchanting and the finale featuring Sophia Tolli.

“We have had bookings from 2020 brides to last minute brides-to-be still looking for their perfect dress,” says Bethany. “It’s always exciting to chat to new brides who are looking at trying on dresses for the first time. Many brides often come to us with an idea in mind and leave with their dream dress that is completely different from their first thought. Finding your perfect dress is a moment to treasure and savour. At our boutique in Welwyn Garden City, the bridal party can relax and enjoy a glass of prosecco; we even have a catwalk for brides to walk down in our dresses to help them find the perfect dress for them.”

Between fashion shows, guests were able to indulge in a cream tea on the garden terrace, or enjoy a glass of fizz in the champagne bar.
