I woke up with my mum and sister on the morning of the wedding at Mottram Hall and couldn’t believe the weather. It had rained the whole week but was perfectly sunny throughout our day. The morning ran smoothly. As I am a hair stylist and make-up artist I knew what to expect and wanted to feel relaxed on the day. So my bridesmaids did each others hair and make-up so I could concentrate on my own. When my flowers arrived I was over the moon, especially with my bouquet of pale pink peonies!

My favourite part was also the scariest part - the ceremony. Waiting to walk in with my dad I was so nervous, but glad I had him with me. The love hit me as I walked into the room and instantly made me cry. The way Alex was looking at me throughout the vows was all made

more special by my sister singing and

a very special speech from my gran’s

best friend Audrey.

The ceremony was followed by a very emotional and unplanned receiving line of all our friends and family. It was such a happy and overwhelming experience. Shortly after, we had had a few moments to ourselves to have our pictures taken in the beautiful grounds. Lisa, our photographer used long lenses so that we felt relaxed and the resulting pictures were natural and unposed.

We all enjoyed the wedding breakfast and it was made more special by the fact that I had handmade all the table displays myself with the help of my mum. I made a lot of things for the wedding; the save the dates, invitations with handmade lace doily envelopes, the guestbook and the favour bags to name just a few. My favourite, that I will treasure forever, was my tiara that I made from vintage jewels to match the shape of my ring.

The band were fantastic and really set the mood for the evening as our extra guests arrived. The jazz band earlier on in the day were also amazing.

The whole day ran perfectly for us, we even laughed during our first dance when our cake fell on the floor! Nothing was going to ruin our special day!
