One of Ireland’s leading forces in Bridal design Lizzie Agnew and her team create stunning gowns from the finest fabrics.
Using pure silks and satins, delicate detailing and sumptuous petticoats, her hand finished wedding gowns are perfect for a style conscious bride who wants a contemporary look but with a chic and classic cut.
With over 20 years of experience in designing fine gowns for discerning brides. Lizzie’s expertise and talent for her art are evident in each and every piece. Her exquisite eye ensures that each of the simple but glamorous creations is gilded with a modern twist on vintage couture. Through this Lizzie uses her skills to help clients realise their dream dress for their special occasion, “I love to see my clients in the finished design looking and feeling sensational” said Lizzie.
Lizzie loves the silhouettes of the past, the way they enhance and flatter the female form with the accent on beautiful fabrics cut simply but elegantly. For this reason much of her inspiration is gleaned from some of fashion’s most glamorous eras. The emphasis for her creations is on classic designs, exquisite cut and use of luxurious fabrics such as fine silk dupion, shantung and lace, used throughout her collections. Embellishment is kept to a minimum, letting the simplicity of the dress speak for itself.
The Lizzie Agnew bespoke bridal label was launched three years ago, since then the business has grown from strength to strength, gaining commissions from as far afield as Canada and San Francisco. In January of this year she made her range available to bridal stores, accounts in Ireland include McElhinneys in Ballybofey, Ireland’s largest bridal retailer. Her best sellers are her full skirted short dresses which suit practically any body shape. They are so popular with clients due to their unique look and quality finish; the petticoats alone contain over 40 meters of fabric. Lizzie’s 2012 collection is inspired by “the golden age of couture” and features a range of short and full length silk dresses. The dresses are classic, tailored, elegant and timeless and all feature a full circle skirt and unique satin bound petticoat.
Lizzie has gained acclaim for her bridal and special occasion dresses. She recently dressed Rosanna Davison, former Miss World and daughter of Chris de Burgh, for the VIP Style Awards in Dublin, Rosanna was voted as one of the top 5 Best Dressed on the night. Lizzie’s work has featured in numerous publications including The Guardian, The Irish Independent, Belfast Telegraph, Northern Ireland’s wedding Journal, Northern Irelands Wedding Belle and Confetti.
