The team at Kitley House Hotel is celebrating since the four-star venue scooped 'Gold' in the Wedding Venue of the Year category at the Devon Tourism Awards. Kitley House also took home 'Silver' in the Business Events Venue category.

A record 240 entries across 27 different categories ensured the award win wasn't an easy feat, with 167 entrants undergoing a comprehensive judging process.

Kitley House, which is a 500-year-old former manor house set in 600 acres of grounds, was described by the judges as "Charming, with a real sense of grandeur".

Managing director, Spike Bastard, said: “We are over the moon to have won not one, but two awards. We know that Kitley is a fabulous place to get married and now it’s official - the best wedding venue in Devon in 2019. We were delighted too to pick up a Silver award as Business Events Venue. Our two crystal trophies are fantastic recognition of all the hard work and commitment shown by our team over the last year. A massive thank you to the judges.”

Kitley House also recently announced the appointment of wedding planner, Nicole West (pictured in gallery), who will work closely with couples to create their dream wedding day. Nicole will be introducing greater flexibility for couples by creating a new set of wedding packages.

She comments: “We are flexible here at Kitley. We are not black and white like some venues. We try to work around the couple. My approach is ‘Tell me what you want and I will try my hardest to make it happen’. That’s the way I like to work.”
