It’s a record piece of wedding cake for these Corgis

Ok, so these aren’t really the Queen’s corgis, but they are however the very same corgis used in the recent smash-hit film ‘The King’s Speech’.

In the run up to the Royal Wedding, Freeview HD decided to give the Queen’s best friends the starring role in their campaign. After producing a commercial where three corgis are on a mission to find the best place to watch the Royal Wedding, Freeview HD also decided to make a delicious snack to suit the occasion; the world’s largest wedding cake for dogs.

With Tower Bridge in the background, Freeview displayed their 68.45 kg (150.91 lb) wedding cake. The reason why our four-legged friends were content is that for once not only could they drool over the delicious looking cake, they were allowed to have their cake and eat it!

Under an amazingly detailed Corgi statue made out of icing lay a cake made out of wholemeal flour, liver dog food, garlic, eggs, dried liver, beef steak, fish oil and chicken.

The cake itself took up to 3 weeks to complete and was made entirely by Michelle Wibowo (UK), a professional cake maker. It really was a work of art!

A huge congratulations to Freeview HD for a rather royal and undeniably unique record attempt!
