Situated in the Gloriette – the 13th century castle keep – the Henry VIII Banqueting Hall is named after the castle’s most famous owner, and architect of many changes to the building. He was responsible for installing the magnificent bay windows, with panoramic views across the grounds.

The largest room in the castle, measuring over 70ft in length, the Henry VIII Banqueting Hall can seat up to 100 guests for dinner. The hall is traditionally furnished and a blazing log fire provides the finishing touch in winter, with an ebony floor, heavily carved beams and a choice of layouts.

The Dining Room was redesigned in 1938 by French interior designer, Stéphane Boudin, whose other clients included the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and Jackie Kennedy.

Eighteenth century tapestries line the Dining Room walls together with selected pieces of Chinese porcelain. The use of soft pastel colours and delicate lighting gives the room a light, airy feel.

The Dining Room provides an intimate location for ceremonies, small reception parties and dinner celebrations. The adjoining Library is also licensed for civil ceremonies. These two rooms can be used in any combination to create the perfect venue for smaller occasions
