When you're lacking in inspiration turn to your home's interior. Wayfair.co.uk’s resident style expert, Nadia McCowan Hill, details how you can incorporate the latest interior trends in to your wedding day decor.
Tropical
It’s official, the world can’t get enough of tropical interiors and we likely have the Rio Olympics to thank for that. Hard though it may seem, it’s actually very easy to incorporate this vibrant and playful style into your wedding. Start with your table setting which can incorporate a range of tropical accents such as pineapple, flamingo or leaf centerpieces - even palm leaves as place settings. Bring more colour to your décor by using tropical-inspired soft furnishings such as palm-print cushions. If you’re willing to stretch your wedding budget a little, then rattan chairs are always a great choice to really bring the look to life.
Naturals
Stripping furniture and accents back until they are bare-faced and naturally beautiful is currently huge in the interiors world. The organic look is growing in popularity as people drift further away from opulence and lean more towards a simple, rustic look. If you want to bring this style to your wedding, simply think country chic. I’d suggest wooden lanterns and lots of them, whether they be centrepieces or dotted around your wedding venue - lanterns will really bring this look alive. In addition, opt for wooden décor and chairs which really capture the natural style.
Coastal
This style is a perma-trend, especially during summer. There’s simply nothing about fresh and breezy ocean-inspired style that gets boring. The simple and soft, natural palette of coastal interiors make them an easy trend to capture for your wedding. Dot coastal accents across your table and throughout your wedding venue to capture the sense of the seaside. A sand-based centrepiece with small candles placed on top will set the scene immediately. However, if you want to take it up a notch, opt for sea-scented candles to transport your guests straight to the ocean.
