We feel like our wedding day couldn’t have gone any better. Any nerves about things not going to plan were quickly lost and we had an incredible day from start to finish (and like to think our guests did too).
Some key highlights were seeing how gorgeous the venue looked, in particular all the bits and pieces we had made.
Setting eyes on each other for the first time as I walked down the aisle was another special moment. Nick said I looked stunning and, of course he hadn’t seen me in my dress before the big day.
The speeches were brilliant. The best man, Ed Arkell, made Nick take a bite from an ‘edible’ hat, reminding Nick of an “or I’ll eat my hat” statement he failed on back in university.
As our wedding was at Christmas we got our guests to sing The Twelve Days of Christmas during the wedding breakfast. Each of the tables was responsible for a lyric like ‘five gold rings’. They had to stand up and sing every time it came around.
We’d taken dance lessons to do a waltz for our first dance, which was a song played by our ceilidh band, which in itself was fantastic. Everyone enjoyed themselves.
