Ideas and inspiration at Bride: The Wedding Show at BIC 2020
24 Feb 2020
Engaged couples enjoyed a weekend of wedding planning beside the seaside at Bride: The Wedding Show at Bournemouth International Centre from February 22-23
With so much to see and do, Bride: The Wedding Show welcomed a host of excited couples, their friends and their families for the second year at Bournemouth International Centre.
Brides- and grooms-to-be were offered the opportunity to plan their weddings the local way with the help of several regional suppliers including bridal boutiques, cake makers, stationers, florists, venues, photographers and more.
Mandy Hart of Swingletree Vintage Hire, a returning exhibitor, said: "We had an amazing weekend. The minute the doors opened, we were busy chatting with engaged couples who loved our stand. The show was even better than last year."
A fleet of wedding transport lined the back of the hall, with an array of classic cars, modern vehicles and even a vintage VW Beetle all available to view and hire. A marquee hire team, balloon décor specialists, travel agents, aesthetic companies and financial services were also on hand throughout the weekend to guide and advise couples in their choices.
There were food samples, show-exclusive deals and competitions to enter, as well as complimentary copies of Dorset Hampshire Surrey Sussex & Wiltshire Bride magazine to take home.
Simon Hawkins of SJH Entertainment serenaded the crowds throughout the day, performing on the café stage.
Simon said: “I thought the show was very well organised and I was very happy with the opportunity to entertain the crowds. It was great to meet all the other exhibitors and share thoughts and ideas on networking to gain more business.”
The nearby drinks bar, The Brew Box, allowed visitors the chance to relax and enjoy the entertainment while celebrating the occasion in style.
The catwalk show was also a hit, featuring the latest wedding fashions for the bride, groom and bridesmaids. Stephanie Frances Bridal, Gibb Menswear, Posh Togs and Brides of Winchester all took to the stage with a hand-picked selection of dazzling outfits for the big day. Audiences left the theatre enthused to take a closer look at the designs at the exhibitors’ stands, with many booking appointments to visit the stores at a future date and some even buying on the day.
Friends Zoe Barber and Tara White from Bournemouth, who are both getting married in 2021, said: “The catwalk was so good and not what we expected, we laughed so much at the men and the dresses were beautiful. We are both at different stages of the planning process. There was such a variety of stands. Both of our venues were exhibiting and we found two photographers we like. The show was really good and it was especially useful to meet suppliers in person.”
