Rebecca Aspin, from online wedding marketplace Sell My Wedding recently teamed up with a host of suppliers to showcase how you can style a wedding worthy of Instagram while on a budget. Themed ‘Industrial Romance’, the shoot offers inspirational details with greenery arrangements, metallic accents and hints of soft blush. Take a look at the details of the shoot below and similar wedding items at

Using the 2017 Pantone Colour of the Year, Greenery, as a starting point, the shoot intersperses whimsical foliage with pops of pink for a soft and romantic colour palette. Copper accents in geometric centrepieces, tea light holders and cutlery offer an industrial element which offsets the feminine shades while simultaneously completing the overall colour scheme.

The shoot sought to dispel the myth around second-hand and how everything to do with a wedding needs to cost a fortune. The geometric centrepieces were pre-loved from Sell My Wedding, the tea light holders were in the sale at H&M while the ribbon was from the bargain bin at Boyes.

Why pre-loved is the new way to shop for your wedding

Rebecca says: “Don’t be afraid to buy pre-loved; just because it’s a wedding, everything does not need to be brand new. I don’t think that there is as much of a stigma about buying second-hand as there used to be. People love to trawl the internet, car boot sales and charity shops to find the perfect items for their wedding. Décor is our most popular category; while a lot of people may be put off buying their wedding dress second-hand they wouldn’t think twice about buying second-hand décor or items for their wedding.

“Most items have only been used for a matter of hours so are in impeccable condition. Sell My Wedding has Vera Wang and Jenny Packham dresses for sale, which are listed at sometimes half the original price, so if you fall in love with a designer dress but couldn’t afford to buy it brand new, searching for a pre-loved one will enable you to purchase your dream dress. Veils and accessories, such as headpieces, are also popular to pick up second-hand.”
