Courtesy of DaWanda, in this tutorial we will show you how to make colorful place cards to decorate your wedding table.
You will need:
- White cardboard box
- Metal ruler
- Watercolours
- Brushes
- Marker
- Yarns in different colours
- Scissors
- A paper knife
- Fork
- Hole punch
1 . Materials
Prepare all the necessary materials. The easiest way would be to find yarn in basic colours, because then it is easier to match the colour of the paint.
2. Cutting the paper
From the cardboard, cut out the base of the place cards. Make sure that the paper strip is about the length of the shorter side of the paper, and the width is 6cm.
3. Bending the cardboard
Bend the paper strip in half.
4. Painting with watercolours
Paint a small strip on the vignette with a watercolour. Its edges are additionally painted with a brush soaked in water so that the colour achieves a washed effect.
5. Making a hole
Make a hole at the top of the half-vignette.
6. Writing the guest's name
Above the colour bar, write the name of the guest.
7. Make the pompoms
With the same colour as the strip prepared, make a small pompom. Do not forget to leave longer threads so that you can attach the pompom to the card. To get the pompom in the right size, you can use a fork. You need to wrap a thick yarn on the fork. The amount of yarn depends on how thick the pompon will be. Tie the knot tightly in the middle. Cut the yarn at both ends, including the ends of the yarn which are sticking out, so that the pompom has a nice spherical shape.
8. Attach the pompom
Thread through the hole to attach the pompom and voilà!
