Words cannot describe how ‘on cloud nine’ you feel on your big day. I felt like an absolute princess. I couldn’t wait to get going and get to the church, I really missed seeing David.

I have many favourite parts to the day, but one that resonates the most is being sat in the dining room where we were all having our hair and make-up done and dad being there with us getting involved in all the fun. We were all having a really good laugh so it was lovely he could join in.

Then, at the church I remember seeing everyone’s faces and trying to take it all in. Once I saw David I pretty much forgot about everything else around me. It was an amazing feeling.

As the day was so wet, I couldn’t wear my shoes on the grass going into the church so I wore my little sister’s filthy converse trainers which looked hysterical with my beautiful dress. Naturally everyone took pictures of David putting my actual shoes back on.

The speeches were fabulous; even though David described the moment he knew I was ‘the one’ as when I had to suck a splinter from his toe while we were away. My father’s face was a picture at that point!

In the evening David had organised a massive surprise fireworks display which was amazing and our friends bought lots of lanterns for us, which was another lovely touch.

Both of our ‘best bits’ were in the church. I just felt so excited making my vows with all the special people in my life around me. It was a really significant moment. David’s was being announced in the church as Mr and Mrs Williams.

We’re going snowboarding in the winter for our honeymoon but did spend a few days together at Chewton Glen after the wedding which was fabulous!
