New research has revealed that the cost of hen and stag parties is at an all time high
Hen and stag party provider Chillisauce.com has announced an 18% increase in the cost of its customers' hen and stag parties.
Over the last five years, the overall spend has risen from £2,124 to £2,504 for a group booking and £163 to £171 per person.
The research also revealed that one in five grooms are now expected to pay for their own stag do place - a 7% increase on last year. And more than a third of brides paid to attend their own hen party, up by 21% since 2018.
Dan Collacott, head of marketing for Chillisauce.com, says: "It’s surprising to see how many hens and stags now expect the bride- and groom-to-be to pay for themselves on their last celebration before they get married. It could well be because they are opting for more lavish activities, therefore everyone is having to spend more and simply cannot afford to pay for themselves as well as someone else."
The most popular destinations chosen by hens and stags were also unveiled. The top five European cities for hen parties were found to be Liverpool (9.3% of total bookings), Brighton (8.3%), London (9.8%), Cardiff (5.2%) and Edinburgh (4.3%). However, stag parties continue to travel further afield with Budapest, Prague and Benidorm coming out on top.
