St Tropez, Komodo Island and the British Virgin Islands provide the most spectacular views from a cruise ship, a new survey has found.
Cruise118.com asked more than 2,250 people to pick their favourite view from a cruise ship in a bid to find the best photos of spectacular scenery from around the world that have been taken from the deck of a cruise ship.
The company whittled down their list of destinations to 15, and asked people across three surveys (categorised by Europe, Asia and rest of the world) to vote for their favourite view.
Photographs were unlabelled so survey respondents could be free from preconceptions and to choose their favourite view based on its aesthetic beauty alone.
Recent findings from CLIA show that the number of people embarking on cruise holidays has risen by 68 per cent in the past decade.
James Cole, managing director at Cruise118.com, says one of the benefits of taking a cruise holiday is the sheer number of spectacular sights that travellers are treated to along the way.
“Waking up to a different view every morning is obviously hugely appealing,” says Cole. “As you can see from these images, there are some jaw-droppingly stunning locations dotted around the world, and there are few better ways to see them than from the deck of a cruise ship.”
