Launched in Easter 2012, Handmade Horseshoe Gifts produces unique bespoke hand dressed horseshoes to be given primarily as a wedding gift. The shoes are a traditional gift representing good luck and thoughtfully crafted with the recipient in mind.

Each shoe is specifically colour coordinated and hand designed to suit the individual style and theme of wedding. I work closely with my clients to produce a very personalised product be it matching a certain colour of ribbon, or charms representing the hobbies or interests of the bride and groom.

The dressed shoe comes packaged as a gift in either a handmade silk bag, colour coordinated and embroidered with the marital name and date of the wedding or a heart shaped box made from recycled materials.

There is the added option of an engraved heart with the name of the married couple and the date of the wedding this is then attached to the centre of the shoe.

The end result is a highly personalised gift always appreciated and remembered by the recipient.

I source my horseshoes from the charity HorseWorld, but I have also made shoes that have come from my customers’ own horses and ponies.

Each shoe, being a real worn shoe, goes through a rigorous cleaning programme but making sure the normal wear and tear of its journey is not disturbed. It is then finished with a specialist marine oil for preservation.

I make sure each shoe comes with a label including a picture of the horse or pony it came from and a brief description of its journey.

HorseWorld is the leading UK charity, caring primarily for horses ponies and donkeys. It rescues, rehabilitates and re homes animals that have been abandoned, neglected or Ill-treated. Horse World is funded entirely through public donations. I spent some time at HorseWorld learning about the work that goes on behind the scenes. The horses and ponies that are lovingly saved go on to work with disabled and disadvantaged children and adults adding a sustainable contribution to many lives. I always donate 10% of the purchase price per order to HorseWorld regardless.
