Hamptons International Completes 227 Mile Cycle for Cancer Research UK

Hamptons International, the UK’s premium residential agency, has completed a team cycle ride of 227 miles on Friday 30th August 2013, to raise funds for its corporate charity partner – Cancer Research UK.

To help the business raise £100k for Cancer Research UK by the end of 2013, Hamptons International’s Western region cycled a 227 mile course interlinking the region’s 12 branches (Banbury, Dedington, Oxford, Newbury, Marlborough, Bath, Bristol, Cirencester, Stroud, Painswick, Cheltenham and finally Broadway).

With a start time of midnight on Friday 30th, the Hamptons International team of seven began their 227 mile journey at the company’s Banbury branch (44 Market Place, Banbury, Oxon, OX16 5NW), the cyclists then travelled to Deddington, Oxford, Newbury, Marlborough, Bath, Bristol, Cirencester, Stroud, Painswick, Cheltenham and finally crossed the finish line after 22 hours of cycling, at 10.30pm at Hamptons Broadway branch (27 High Street Broadway Worcestershire WR12 7DP). The challenge was organised and led by Sam Pagett, Lettings Negotiator at Hamptons International Cheltenham branch, he rode alongside both colleagues and friends and they have raised a combined total of £2,200 for Cancer Research UK.

Olivia Pegrum, Regional Lettings Director of Hamptons International’s Western Region says: “We are extremely proud of our heroic cyclists, it was a tremendous feat and one of both physical and mental endurance! Having started the cycle at midnight on Friday the team rode through the night with no sleep all the way through to 10.30pm the following evening, visiting all of Hamptons International Western Region’s branches one by one along the way. As if the challenge wasn’t hard enough on their final leg before reaching the Banbury branch their last climb was up Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds at 330 metres. Well done to all, we are extremely proud of our cyclists and delighted they managed to raise so much money for such a worthy cause!”

Andrew Marshall, Regional Sales Director of Hamptons International’s Western Region Sales says: “Well done to Sam Pagett and his team of cyclists for pulling out all the stops and completing their wonderful cycling challenge. A huge thank you also to everyone who donated so generously and all the supporters to came out in force to cheer on the team. Each branch along the way showed an incredible amount of spirit providing the team with food, drink and morale boosting cheer. Overall, it was a great day for all and a fantastic opportunity to raise as much money as possible for our chosen charity, Cancer Research UK!”
