New research from Pawshake has revealed that we are a nation of animal lovers, eager to involve our pets in our special day
Pawshake, a new website and app service that allows pet owners to find trusted pet sitters, has unveiled that 50% of UK pet owners have included their pet in their wedding day.
Not content with just an appearance, 17% of owners have even taken their pet's involvement one step further by giving them a job for the day - from best man to ring bearer.
Booking a pet sitter for the big day has also proved of utmost importance, with 9 in 10 animal lovers ranking it high on their 'wedmin' to-do list.
Pets have even been given priority when newlyweds arrange their honeymoon; while 40% of pet owners have taken their pet with them, 60% of couples would consider cancelling their honeymoon if they couldn't find reliable pet care.
Pawshake co-founder Tanguy Peers said: “Pets are becoming more and more part of the family, so it’s not surprising to see that we are now involving them in one of the most important days of our lives – our wedding. We’re passionate about pets at Pawshake so we love to hear stories of pets being chosen as a ring bearer or even part of the wedding party!”
