Watch as a daring groom-to-be proposes using the world’s longest zipline in Ras Al Khaimah
Adrian Mackay, 30, from Bengaluru in India has become the first person ever to propose on the world’s longest zipline in Ras Al Khaimah. Adrian popped the question to his wife-to-be Susan Kuruvilla as she came in to land on the suspended platform high on Jebel Jais, the United Arab Emirate’s tallest mountain.
The adrenaline-fuelled proposal, which took place 80 metres above the mountain floor, was supported by Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority and Toro Verde UAE, who arranged for a ‘will you marry me’ banner to be unveiled as Mr Mackay got down on one knee. Mr Mackay was first to use the 2.83km zipline, before waiting on the suspended platform to ask for his partner’s hand in marriage.
Mr Mackay said: “I wanted to do something special to make our engagement unique and when I heard about the world’s longest zipline, I knew it would be the perfect way to propose. From the beautiful drive to Ras Al Khaimah to the stunning views in the Jais Mountains and the exhilaration of the zipline itself, it was truly an once-in-a-lifetime experience and the operator, Toro Verde, did everything possible to make it even more special. I am so happy I got to ask the girl of my dreams to marry me and do the world’s longest zipline”.
