Groom arranges for delivery of six-foot GIANT SUBS during wedding speech

Unbeknownst to both his bride and wedding guests, James Goad decided to place an order for three Giant Subs to arrive during his speech... and for a very special reason
Groom James Goad surprised his bride, Lucinda Horn, during their wedding reception at Abbots Hill School in Hemel Hempstead with the delivery of three six-foot Subway sandwiches.
The delivery took place during James' wedding speech and while some guests were left dumbfounded by the arrival, it was soon revealed that James had arranged it as a sweet reminder of the happy couple's 'first date'.
Commenting on his creative idea, James said: “I was writing my speech and thinking of the first time Lucinda and I met and was stumped because ours wasn’t love at first sight, she didn’t really like me that much. We met at work, but we didn’t really hit it off at first – in fact, she thought I was a bit of an idiot.
“I fancied her a little bit," James continued. "And one night in 2013 we all went on a typical work night out to welcome some new faces in the office. Lucinda and I hit it off with a bit of flirting, then we went to our local nightclub, Veeda, and shared a passionate kiss in the r’n’b room."
“Later in the night I took her to Subway and thought I’d be romantic by offering her an Italian six-inch BMT. But when I handed it to her, she dropped the whole lot on the floor. We always have a laugh about Subway now, and when we walk past we joke about the way we first met.”
To commemorate his and Lucinda's first (non-romantic) encounter, James ordered three Giant Subs for their wedding day: an Italian BMT, Ranch Chicken and Veggie Delight.
The supersize sandwiches were created by sandwich artist, Justin Pringle, and the team at the Jarman Park store in Hemel Hempstead. Designed to feed a group of 25, the six-foot subs cost £116 and take 2.5 hours to make.
