Last minute rental provider Snaptrip.com has revealed a unique venue ideal for mini-moons and getaways. Originally built to protect Portsmouth Harbour from a French invasion, the historic Gosport Solent Fortress was built in the 1870s and was once home to a 36-tonne cannon. The fortress has now been transformed into a luxury rental property that is only accessible via boat or helicopter.
Despite its renovation, the fortress still boasts many of its original features, including exposed brick, valuated ceilings and gun emplacements. Along with its historic characteristics, it offers nine luxurious bedrooms and eight bathrooms; all decorated in a nautical style. Further features include a hot tub, sauna, gym, library, games room, rooftop deck, fire pit, reconstructed lighthouse, champagne bar and dedicated wine tasting room.
With the bustling nightlife of Portsmouth close by, couples can enjoy the best of both worlds during their first trip away as a married couple. Views of Portsmouth can be easily seen from the roof deck and bedroom windows, and early risers will be rewarded with stunning sunrises and views of the local fishermen and yachts. The fortress’s selection of dining rooms and bars mean guests can choose whether to interact with others or stay secluded.
Rooms are priced at £560 a night. For the cheapest deal, last minute UK rental provider Snaptrip.com is the place to look as the company can guarantee the best price. Click here to book or find out more.
