Aside from being loved up, excited about honeymoon destinations and a brilliant big day, chances are you’re feeling slightly overwhelmed, as planning a wedding is time consuming and challenging. 

Making sure you find the perfect venue, set a realistic budget and get everything right for your big day can be stressful and difficult. If you find the thought of organising such an important and special day too daunting, it may be time to consider hiring a wedding planner.

Planning a realistic budget is key to getting the wedding that you want. Wedding and event planners can advise on the best use of your money to help it go further. They can spend time negotiating with venues, photographers and florists to get you the best price possible and will always get you a good deal because of their industry knowledge and existing relationships with suppliers.

2. Venues and suppliers
Wedding and event planners can usually source interesting and unusual venues that you may not have thought about or even be aware of. Because they work with venues and suppliers, day in and day out, they have fantastic local knowledge that you can tap into. 

If you are looking for a certain style of photography or a certain wedding car they will know exactly where to source it and will usually be able to negotiate it quickly and for a great price. One phone call from them may save weeks of emails and follow ups if you were doing it yourself. What’s more, you can rest assured that the supplier won’t let you down because the event planner will know them and trust them.

3. Sweating the small stuff
The perfect wedding day is all about getting the details right. A seasoned wedding and events planner will know exactly where to spend time to make sure you have the best day ever. They will ensure the lighting is right, the timing of the day flows smoothly, the drinks and food are served at the right time and that the wedding car shows up. They are there to make sure that your day is worry free and fun for you, your family and your guests.

4. Value for money
Although you will pay the wedding planner a percentage of your wedding budget to do the work for you, they can often end up saving you money in the long run because of their knowledge of the industry and the savings they can make on your behalf. It is likely to be the best decision you make in the whole process.
