A flawless appearance is a must for most brides on their wedding day, but with so many things to think about it can be overwhelming. Finding a faultless hairstyle, creating a pristine make-up look and avoiding beauty disasters will all be on your mind.
Noelle O’Connor, beauty expert and founder of eco-certified self-tanning range, TanOrganic, shares her easy-to-follow tips and product recommendations to ensure a stress-free, glowing wedding beauty regime.
1. Make-up trials
Most brides will want to look like themselves but better on their wedding day and a natural look is proving popular at the moment. Book in a few trial sessions with your chosen make-up artist to achieve the look that complements your gown. Rosy cheeks, soft brown eye shadow and pink tinted lip sheen would be my go-to staples.
2. Stay calm
It’s easily said but not always easily done…stay calm so you can truly enjoy your big day. Taking a warm lavender bath, going for a walk or drinking chamomile tea can work wonders to re-balance and relax. Cooled chamomile tea bags are a treat for puffy, tired eyes too.
3. Glow, don’t blush
A natural sun-kissed glow will complement most wedding dresses but there is often the fear of fake tan transfer onto the dress. Try TanOrganic’s Self-Tanning Oil (£24.99/100ml) which not only gives the perfect golden glow but is also fully transfer-resistant and, being aloe vera-based, will hydrate your skin, giving it a silky smooth appearance.
4. Hair care
As with make-up, opt for a few trials and see what styles suit your face and dress. If you are having hair coloured, do so a week before in case you want to change it again. In order to maintain an up ’do, wash your hair no more than one day before. Newly-washed hair is slippery hair.
5. Nail it
Unless your wedding theme calls for something more unusual, a pale pink or French manicure will suit most brides, all the better if your nails are in tip-top condition, but if you feel the need for something extra, opt for a gel manicure which should last throughout your wedding day and honeymoon. Keep cuticles healthy with a drop of TanOrganic OilArganic (£24.99/100ml) rubbed in daily.
