Berlin, Germany

For those looking for a taste of history and culture, Berlin is an ideal option. Art galleries sit side-by-side with significant historical monuments amid this sprawling city. There is something to do or see no matter the time of year; from beach bars to Christmas markets, the city is constantly alive. Not only that, everything is within walking distance – and between each destination you’re guaranteed to find some incredible, unique food.

Seville, Spain

Most people would automatically think of Barcelona or Madrid when considering a mini-moon in Spain, but Seville offers just as much – without the masses of tourists. Good food, amazing architecture and gorgeous sunshine are just a few things to look forward to when visiting Seville; in fact, the architecture is so impressive that various buildings throughout the city have been used for TV and film shoots. It also has brilliant travel connections if you wish to take an excursion to one of the surrounding areas.

Florence, Italy

The birthplace of the Renaissance, Florence is a romantic city full of world-class art galleries like the famous Uffizi Gallery, gourmet Tuscan cuisine and stunning scenery. Fashionistas will also enjoy a trip to Florence as it’s home to many renowned fashion houses, including Prada, Gucci, and Salvatore Ferragamo to name a few. Creative and beautiful, this city is an underrated gem in the heart of Tuscany. The surrounding countryside and vineyards are easily accessible for a break from the busy city.

Split, Croatia

Split is the second-largest city in Croatia, located on the Dalmatian coast. Featuring both Roman architecture and more modern structures, as well as its own beach, the city is perfect for long walks, cups of hot coffee and soaking up some culture. Game of Thrones fans will love exploring the city, which has been used as the set for various scenes. Make sure to visit Diocletian’s Palace, a Roman building and Unesco World Heritage site that is filled with bars, shops and restaurants.

Amsterdam, Netherlands

With cheap and short flights available from a variety of UK airports, Amsterdam is a popular mini-moon destination. This relaxed, laid-back city features a vast selection of museums and galleries along with scenic walking routes along the canals, large picturesque parks and a thriving nightlife scene. Visit the renowned coffeeshops, take a canal tour or explore the hipster outlying neighbourhoods away from the throngs of tourists.
