1. Trov ( – Ensure your important electronics are protected

Before heading off on your honeymoon, it can be a good idea to get your belongings insured as you will likely be taking important electronics on your honeymoon, such as a camera to record special moments and phones to keep in touch with your loved at home. In the excitement of your wedding, it’s probable that insurance has not been at the top of your to-do list. An app that allows you to quickly insure common electronic items is Trov, which offers protection for items such as laptops, mobile phones, and cameras, allowing users to turn insurance on and off with a simple swipe within the app. Available on iOS and Android.

2. Tripit ( – Say hello to your personal organiser

One of the most stressful things about travelling is keeping track of all the important documents. A great app to help organise your essential information and keep it all in one place, helping your honeymoon to be stress free, is Tripit. Tripit collects all the information from your confirmation emails – flights, hotels, bookings, rentals, and everything else, and puts it together into your own, bespoke itinerary. All you need to do is forward the emails to the app, making it easy to manage the travel admin. Available on iOS and Android.

3. Acast ( – Get ready to relax

After the stress of planning a wedding, every couple needs time to relax and to enjoy thinking about something other than planning their big day. A great way to start this from the minute you set off on your honeymoon, is to download podcast and audio platform, Acast. With a huge selection of podcasts on every topic, from true crime to comedy, history and travel, you are guaranteed to find something that will feed your interests. Some great shows to keep you entertained are Dirty Mother Pukka, an entertaining podcast all about love and family life and History Hit by Dan Snow, which takes you to weird and wonderful places around the world, making history interesting again. Acast also recommends shows tailored to your taste, lets you download podcasts for offline listening, and shares exciting ‘rich media’ from the hosts to make your listening more fun and interactive. Available on iOS and Android.

4. Packpoint ( - Never forget an essential item ever again

Packing your bags for your honeymoon is bound to be a stressful job, especially if you are leaving soon after your wedding day. With the amount of things to think about, it’s highly likely that either you or your partner will forget at least one item. If the idea of forgetting something is worrying you, then a great app to download is Packpoint. Packpoint allows you to input your destination, dates of travel, length of stay, and any activities that you and your partner will be doing, and then generates a list of all items you need to pack, ensuring you are never without an essential item again. Available on iOS and Android.

5. TripAdvisor ( – Avoid making a bad choice of food or activity

Chances are you have researched your honeymoon location to death and feel like you know the area like a local before even stepping foot off the plane. However, when it comes to your honeymoon, you want to have the very best time and a great app to help ensure this is TripAdvisor. The TripAdvisor app allows you to see user ratings and reviews of local things such as restaurants and activities, ensuring that you can make an informed decision of where to eat and what to do, based on other people’s good experiences before you. Available on iOS and Android.
