A hen party is all about giving the blushing bride-to-be the send-off she deserves. And, as maid of honour, the responsibility falls upon your shoulders to make sure she goes out with a bang. From hen party games, to decorations and personalised touches – hen party planners, Last Night of Freedom, are rounding up their top tips for a D.I.Y. hen party to remember.

1. Decorations

Firstly, you want your best friend to feel special as she walks into the room. So, make sure to jazz up the room with more hen party paraphernalia than you can shake a stick at. Think banners, bunting, L-plate balloons, confetti covered tables, hen party cake stands (to house your handmade cakes, of course) and plenty of alcohol (in hen party themed glasses to start the night as you mean to go on.

2. Games

No hen party is worth its salt without a few classic games. Not only are they super fun and act as a handy way to get the alcohol flowing, but they’re the perfect ice breaker for a group who may not know each other too well. And, as with everything ‘hen’, the more risqué, the better. From Truth or Dare and Dickhead Hoopla, to Penis Piñata and Pin the Junk on the Hunk – these are sure to get the girls giggling and ready to celebrate.

3. Gift Bags

As a throwback to our childhood, everyone loved receiving a party bag as a memento of an event – and this hen do will be no different. Fill the bags with sweets, cake, party poppers, willy lipsticks, bubbles and other novelty items – or you could cut the hassle out and take a look at our pre-made or personalised gift bags.

4. Photographs

Not that we have to remind you, but make sure to take lots of photographs to look back on in years to come (and to help you piece your night together, the morning after). We tend to find that photo booth props make for a hilarious hen do photo shoot – selfie sticks at the ready, girls. You could even put together a memory book with photographs in, as a gift for the bride-to-be.

5. Personal touch

This is your best friend’s last night of freedom – tonight is all about her. To make sure everyone else knows that, shower your group with personalised t-shirts, sashes and badges, and maybe even decide on a themed costume for all of the girls to go out in – from sexy air hostesses, to Baywatch beauties and even Hawaiian Hula girls – making sure you’ll really turn heads in that club.
