You've got the dress, now to decide on your crowning glory - your bridal hairstyle. If a beautiful up-do is what you're looking for, there are various styles to suit your overall look - but how do you explain exactly what you want? Hairdressing experts, Francesco Group, share five of their salons' most sought-after bridal styles, with instructions on what to ask your hairdresser for the perfect finishing touch.

The Braided Crown

If you are interested in this hairstyle, ask your hairdresser for a braided crown. This style works particularly well if you have medium to long hair and can be created by your stylist using French, Dutch or regular braids to create a crown style around the head. This style is super romantic and perfect for those who like a more ‘undone’ look.

The Flower Bun

This style is a unique approach on the side bun, where braids are twisted until they curl into themselves and pinned into place to create a flower-like look. If you are thinking about opting for this look, ask your hairdresser for a twisted flower bun and make sure to bring in your own flower hair pins to give the look extra charm.

The French Twist/Roll

The French Twist/Roll is a classic bridal hairstyle where the hair is twisted to the top of the head until it turns in to itself and looks super elegant. Ask your hairdresser for a French roll or French twist and then ask them to pull out some hair at the front once the look is finished to give it a softer look.

The Low Knotted Bun

Ask your hairdresser for a low knotted bun with a deep, swept over side fringe. Buns are classic hairstyles for weddings, however, this look incorporates a fishtail plait, giving the bun that knotted look. You can also ask your hairdresser to tug some bits of your hair out from the bun once it’s finished; this will give the bun more volume and create a messy, chic look.

The Chignon

For this look, ask your hairdresser for a chignon. The chignon is an incredibly popular bridal hair look where the hair is pinned into a roll or knot at the back of the head or nape of the neck. This look is a classic and looks ultra feminine. Take a diamante clip along with you to your appointment for your hairdresser to insert above the chignon to give the look extra glamour.
