When you work in the wedding industry, it is assumed that you will choose only the best for your big day with every last detail considered - after all, you have a plethora of ideas and contacts at your disposal.
However, Essex-based cake maker Claire Joyce of Clairey Fairy Wedding Cakes decided against a conventional cake for her and Craig Hudgell's winter wonderland wedding at Hutton Hall.
Instead of creating a mouthwatering masterpiece, Claire opted for an inedible cake which featured a tier bedecked in silver sequins.
Claire said: "I didn't want to be stressed out before the wedding making it and of course couldn't give the job to anyone else, so I had a fake cake, which I made about a month before. I have it on display in my cake shop and nobody noticed it wasn't real."
Yet this didn't stop Claire from showcasing her culinary prowess, as guests were treated to other cakes and treats after the wedding breakfast which also included macarons by Colourful Bites.
