How did you meet?
At a corporate lunch in London.
What was the theme for the day, and did you have a colour scheme?
Classic, elegant, romantic, opulent and fabulous. Our colour scheme was rose gold, blush pink, white and grey.
What venue did you choose and why did you choose it?
Adare Manor in Ireland. It was beyond everything we had imagined.
What did the bridesmaids wear? How many did you have and who were they?
The bridesmaids wore blush pink dresses in various styles. I had eight bridesmaids and four flower girls who comprised family members and friends.
Where did you find your suits?
Saville Row.
Did you hire a wedding planner?
Yes, the amazing Michelle Mcdermott of Mc Events & Weddings, based in Ireland. We couldn’t have done it without her. Michelle ws assisted by the fabulous creative stylist Viv Keating, based in UK.
Tell us about your floral arrangements.
Elegant and timeless with a luxe feel. We used white and ivory flowers with accents of blush. The overall look was slightly unstructured and loose with some greenery and foliage in the ceremony and reception flowers.
What did you choose for your entertainment?
We had lots of entertainment for our guests, which included:
- Caricatures, a photo booth and party photographer
- Gin bar
- Music entertainers including Ronan Keating, Cole Page and DJ Scruffy Duffy
- Horse and hound welcome to the reception
- Candy station
What was the most challenging aspect of planning this wedding?
The size.
What was the most important investment for you?
Food, drink and entertainment.
What song did you choose for your first dance, and why?
Galway Girl (original). I also chose a father/daughter dance to Forever And Ever, Amen by Randy Travis.
Any surprises?
When Ed Sheeran sent us a personal video message.
Tell us about your wedding cake.
Our blush, rose gold and white cake was four tiers high and featured a monogram of our names and diamantes. It comprised several flavours including chocolate and Bailey's, luscious lemon, sublime caramel cake with extra caramel and chocolate biscuit.
