An enchanting woodland wedding shoot from Forest Lodge Weddings

05 Sep 2018

Realise the magic and enchantment of a woodland wedding venue in this styled shoot held at Forset Lodge Weddings in Norfolk

Forest Lodge Weddings is a new wedding venue at Forest Lodge Farm in Thetford Forest, Norfolk, offering an enchanting space in which to celebrate your special day. The secluded woodland environment adds a sense of magic and exclusivity, transporting you to a faraway land to be shared with your nearest and dearest.

Harnessing the beauty of nature and the serene qualities it offers, the team at Forest Lodge Weddings conducted a shoot to showcase the setting in all its glory. Here are the details from the day.

What was the inspiration behind the shoot?

To promote our new venue, Forest Lodge Weddings, and to capture our magical woodland setting at its best as we just had our first wedding.

Forest Lodge Weddings is a new venue offering a different style of celebration to the wedding scene. You can hold your blessing or ceremony in the woodland and enjoy a relaxed reception in Firefly's magical tipi tents afterwards. Have photos taken in the meadows and allow guests to camp overnight in our ten-acre field or in one of our lodges. You can even bring your own horse to the wedding as Forest Lodge Farm is an equine holiday location; you could even arrive to your ceremony on horseback.

For the photo shoot, we put up the tipis, set up the tables and dressed the woodland areas so the stage was perfectly set for a wedding.

What did you choose for the flower arrangements?

To emphasise the boho feel of this setting we used lots of foliage, flower crowns and loose trailing bouquets. To highlight the best bits of the venue, we added relaxed straw bales for the seating as part of the tipi reception and in.the woodland area with its beautiful gazebo.

What kind of look did you want to achieve with the make-up, hair and outfits for the brides?

The theme of ‘boho relaxed' was carried through in the make-up; we went for a soft glowing natural look for the brides. We also added a touch of sparkly glitter to promote a festival vibe.

What was the thinking behind the décor for the shoot? How did you tie it all together?

We used milk churns filled with wild flowers and hung a macramé curtain from the back of the gazebo (supplied by Firefly Tipis). Glitter and bubbles created the festival vibe. Firefly Tipis also supplied leather seating, standard seating and other props to create a seating area within the woodland, perfect for a photo booth or an area in the shade to relax and chat with loved ones. The LOVE letters also made for great props and brought the tipi set-up to life.
