An elegant and romantic shoot in Norfolk

We take you behind the scenes on our featured shoot for Celebrate in Norfolk Magazine
Holkham Hall was the fabulous setting for our spectacular traditional styled photoshoot for Celebrate in Norfolk magazine. We chat to the featured suppliers involved about how this romantic and elegant traditional shoot was created.
Photographer Paul Stearman says: "The concept of this shoot was classic and traditional - Holkham Hall was the perfect setting. Prior to the shoot I went to Holkham Hall to view the interior and exterior, admiring the style of this beautiful building, checking lighting and picture opportunities that would work with the planned look.
"The most challenging part for me was fitting in all of the shots and locations. Holkham Hall for a professional wedding photographer is like being a child in a sweet shop – so much choice - I honestly think I could have spent days there and not run out of ideas.
"Each location and look was equally unique and special. One of my favourite shots was in in the Statue Gallery with our model Megan facing the large windows."
To compete with the grand glamorous backdrop of Holkham Hall, we chose elegant gowns from Pure Brides, Norwich, with oversized tulle skirts and dramatic lace trains. For the Main Hall and the Saloon we chose dresses with plunging necklines and ballgown skirts, leading to a fitted fishgown gown alongside the interior columns, before heading outside to the Temple and Walled Garden with gowns which featured sparkles and intricate lace.
Belle, from Holkham Hall, said: "With six different venues licensed for ceremonies at Holkham, we have the variety of spaces to not only offer the option for smaller weddings, but also ones that can suitably social distanced. The stunning Marble Hall, with its 50 foot ceiling – has recently been dressed for an intimate ceremony for just 15, using five metre tall silver birch trees to help fill the space. We also have the Temple, tucked away in the woodlands of Holkham Park.
"From the shoot, the glamour of the Hall will always win for me. I also adore the silhouette shots from the Saloon against the five beautiful arched windows.
"Stately home wedding venues continue to be popular choices, emphasised further by some celebrity high-profile weddings of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ellie Goulding and Casper Jopling held at stately homes and castles. This re-affirms that they’re not just for classic and traditional weddings, but can accommodate the kind of weddings millennials are now having."
Hair and Make-up
Bridal hair and make-up team, Lina and Leanne from Norfolk Bridal Beauty, said: "The first look, which was our favourite, was natural so we decided on some loose curls and a discreet gold and brown smokey eye. The second look was to match the dark burgundy flowers so we created a dramatic look with a mauve eye and lipstick."
The first look featured orange and white flowers from La Belle Flowers against lush green foliage for a classic romantic look. Then for the second look, the bouquet included larger flowers in rich burgundy tones to match the dramatic make-up.
