The Makeup Company LTD
Glenhurst, Townhouse Road, Costessey, Norwich. NR8 5BY
What geographic area does your business cover? I am based in Norwich which is a fabulous location, enabling me to easily reach the stunning selection of wedding and event venues that Norfolk and Suffolk have to offer.
How long has your business been running? Established back in 2011, The Makeup Company LTD. was previously known at Beauté Rooms. After giving birth to my daughter on Christmas day 2015, I decided I wanted to appreciate every second of her future and that would mean specialising in one area of the Industry, make-up. In 2015 I closed Beauté Rooms and set up my own freelance company, The Makeup Company, since then I have never looked back.
What does your business do? How does it stand out from the competition? My make-up services are tailor-made for each client, individual care and attention is what has made my business a success. Every client deserves to leave feeling her absolute best. I enhance your natural beauty and celebrate your best features using a combination of ground-breaking skills and techniques I have gained over the years. As a result, you'll feel like the most beautiful lady in the room. The Makeup Company LTD. has a completely mobile beauty salon available to hire. It comes with a crushed velvet seating area, plenty of mirrors, hair station, nail station, heating, lighting, running water and all the equipment to make you look and feel beautiful on your big day. It really is every girl's dream.
Why did you enter the 2017 EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards? I had the pleasure of being nominated by my very lovely clients who have always been a very important part of my business. I really hope that I can show everyone that hard work does pay off and that you don’t have to give up on your dreams in order to build a family. I can honestly say that my clients have not only built a relationship with me but so many of them have built a relationship with my daughter too.
What was your reaction to the announcement of your business as a finalist? I honestly never imagined making it to the finals. I have spent the last year expanding my business to cover all aspects of the make-up industry, creating an extensive portfolio and building knowledge within the industry as well as becoming a first time mum to my beautiful little Poppy. I am so grateful to be recognised, let alone to make it this far. 2016was really the most incredible year and I can’t wait to see what 2017 has to offer.
What are you most looking forward to at the EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards ceremony on 27th January, 2017, at Dunston Hall? Aside from the awards themselves, I am very much looking forward to meeting so many other talented and hardworking small businesses within the Norfolk area. I also have the pleasure of being able to attend alongside my extremely talented sister-in-law who has also made it to the finals for her incredible cake making skills (Little Millies). How amazing is that?
