EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards Wedding Venue of the Year, Finalist Q&A: Oxnead Hall
23 Jan 2017
The finalists of the EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards 2017 have been announced and ahead of the red carpet ceremony at Dunston Hall on Friday, 27th January, we get to know them a little better
Jaymi Maxwell-Tingey, operations director at Unique Norfolk Venues for Oxnead Weddings - a finalist in the Wedding Venue of the Year category, answers our Q&A.
What geographic area does your business cover? We cover all over the country and worldwide. We have brides booking us from as close as Buxton and as far as America.
How long has your business been running? Two years and 10 months since the business started, but only seven months with a full commercial premise license.
What does your business do? How does it stand out from the competition? Oxnead Hall is a Unique Wedding Venue in the heart of Norfolk. While the building itself and the inviting grounds are instantly appealing, perhaps what makes Oxnead Hall so unique is the variety of spaces it offers for weddings. The Long Room can host the civil ceremony or wedding breakfast with double doors opening onto a courtyard to extend the space, making it ideal for the band or DJ in the evening. The Orangery is perfect for the civil ceremony or arrival drinks and canapés and the magnificent Great Barn with its timber beams and white walls is the perfect blank canvas for the bride to decorate as she wishes for the wedding breakfast, bar and dancing.
Another unique feature is that there is a church on-site. We also offer first-class catering and wines and an exceptional wedding planning service. Wedding parties can book the venue for one night or more, and most choose to book for a long weekend, treating up to 32 guests to the pleasure of staying on-site in truly luxurious, purpose-built accommodation.
Why did you enter the 2017 EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards? Oxnead Hall and Barns underwent a major refurbishment last winter and we now believe that it offers everything that is desirable and necessary for a perfect wedding venue. Having invested heavily in the estate, we entered the awards in the hope of gaining recognition for what the team have achieved and in the hope of really putting Oxnead on the map - making it better known to potential brides in Norfolk, England and the rest of the world.
What was your reaction to the announcement of your business as a finalist? Thrilled, excited, and very happy - all rolled into one. The team are delighted by the accolade of being nominated as finalists.
What are you most looking forward to at the EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards ceremony on 27th January, 2017, at Dunston Hall? Meeting lots of suppliers, old and new, and of course, the glitz and glam of getting dressed up.
