What geographic area does your business cover? We cover Norfolk and suffolk primarily, but also have supplied wedding cakes to Cambridgeshire and Essex.

How long has your business been running? Little Millie’s first begun back in 2011. After having my daughter Amelie (Millie), I decided that i would like to do something that was closer to home (I was previously working at Kings Lynn as an occupational therapist). When I first started creating wedding cakes I realised that I had a real talent and eye for designs and flavour combinations. I am mostly self-taught but do hold a PME Masters Diploma in Sugar Craft, Royal Icing and Sugar Flowers.

What does your business do? How does it stand out from the competition? We work closely with our couples to make sure that we deliver exactly what they are looking for. From first consultations through to final delivery and set-up at the wedding venue, we like to make sure our customers are happy. A Little Millie’s wedding cake really stands out from the rest. We have a very classic style with a modern feel. Wether our customers know exactly what they require or need help, we are here for them. Also it’s not just about the design; we believe that the taste is as important as the looks so we work hard to ensure that our cakes are delicious and moist. Our signature flavour is our sea-salted caramel cake; if you want to try this then make sure you come and see us at one of the wedding shows.

Why did you enter the 2017 EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards? We were lucky and truly honoured to be nominated by our customers for this award. We always receive lovely feedback from our happy couples and this is definitely the icing on the cake.

What was your reaction to the announcement of your business as a finalist? We are so happy in the Little Millie’s kitchens to have made it through to the finals. We know the EDP team work really hard at all they do for the wedding shows and we love working alongside them, so to be nominated as one of the finalists has given us an amazing start to 2017.

What are you most looking forward to at the EDP Bride: The Wedding Awards ceremony on 27th January, 2017, at Dunston Hall? We are looking forward to a fantastic night with other amazing wedding suppliers. We all get on really well so we cannot wait for the full on red carpet treatment from the EDP and Dunston Hall teams.
