With the news that 72% of couples plan to dine in rather than eating out on Valentine's Day and 6% of men claiming that they will pop the question over a meal at home, Domino's has reacted by creating a 22-carat gold pizza slice engagement ring.
The ring will be given away to one lucky-in-love entrant who applies on the Domino's Facebook page.
Domino's has also revealed that February 14 is one of the chain's busiest days for business, with 475,000 pizzas expected to be made and 24 pizzas ordered per second.
Louise Butler at Domino’s comments: “Valentine’s Day is always one of our busiest days of the year, as increasingly more people are opting for a night in rather than going out – and what better way to spend the evening than with a hot slice of Pepperoni Passion?"
"We’re constantly innovating to make our customers’ lives easier," she continues. "And our new pizza engagement ring is the ultimate gift for someone planning to pop the question this Valentine's Day."
