Dive into the Maldives

The Maldives is a diver’s paradise. With over 1,200 picturesque islands surrounded by coral reefs, containing over 800 different species of coral (compared to a mere 40 in the Caribbean), it’s one of the best places to dive in the world. Situated in the heart of the Indian Ocean, the Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa is located just minutes away from a number of world renowned diving sites including Nassimo Thaila, HP reef and Lankan (Manta Point), Coral Garden and is the perfect place to start your underwater adventure.

The reefs surrounding the resort are home to over 900 species of fish, five varieties of endangered turtles, tuna, barracuda, dolphins, sting rays and the mighty whale shark, so what better place to discover this underwater world than with a team of fully qualified professional PADI instructors. The Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa’s dive centre offers a number of safe and easy to learn courses which cover all ability levels. From the fun Bubblemaker course suitable for ages eight and above to the PADI Distinctive Speciality Course for the more experienced diver, there really is a course for everyone.

For those that want to explore the coral reefs but haven’t had the opportunity, try the Discover Scuba Programme where you’ll learn the basics of scuba diving within the resort’s calm lagoon before venturing, safely and confidently, out into the open water. If you are a certified diver, but haven’t dived for some time, the diving centre runs a number of refresher courses free of charge. Whether you’re a beginner or a fully qualified diver you’ll be amazed by the marine life living in the lagoon and around the resort.

After a busy day of exploring the reefs, the Sheraton Maldives is the perfect place to unwind. For a few hours of pampering head to the Shine Spa for one of their signature homemade treatments which are inspired by local influence and tailored to suit your body. There are also three exquisite restaurants on the island which offer an array of culinary delights to make sure you are fully recharged for your next day of diving. Watch the award-winning chefs at work with Feast’s live cooking stations or dine al fresco at the charcoal grill eatery, Sea Salt. If you after some traditional Thai food visit Baan Thai, one of the finest Thai restaurants in the Maldives, or find home comforts at the English pub Drifters which will provide you with some light entertainment and the perfect roast dinner.

Whatever your age or skill level, the Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa and their experienced diving team will allow you to explore some of the most beautiful waters in the world.
