Deer Park Country House is set to enter an exciting new phase, becoming an exclusive wedding and events venue.

Mark Godfrey, managing director, says: “We feel it’s the right time to focus on that side of our business and specialise in creating one-off celebrations for customers who are looking for something truly out of the ordinary.”

From the secluded woodland entrance to the extensive grounds, it’s an ideal wedding location. The grounds include an al fresco Mediterranean kitchen, walled vegetable garden and a romantic Italian garden. The thatched tree-house is also a standout feature; set high among oak trees, it has a log burner, roll-top bath and wrap-around balcony.

Set among 80 acres of countryside, the Georgian manor house’s reputation is well established in the local region. Deer Park Country House has long been a popular place for weekend breaks and is known for serving up fine food. Chef Richard Still and his team will continue to deliver high quality food to guests using vegetables, herbs and fruits gathered from the gardens.

The venue will remain overseen by general manager John Spiller-Jones. The wedding team of Sophie Brooke, wedding manager, and Kate Wilkinson, wedding coordinator, have years of experience and will continue to help couples plan celebrations at Deer Park Country House. Similarly, Georgie Spiller-Jones, events manager, and Connie Paul, events coordinator, will still be on hand to coordinator other private events.

“The great thing about this new chapter is that it’s a logical progression of the massive effort and investment we’ve been putting in over the past few years,” says Mark. “We have always regarded ourselves as part of the local community, and hope that we will in future be drawing customers to Devon not just from all round the UK, but from all over the world.”
