Cycling tribute to soldier Jo
FIVE women and a support crew of 92 got on their bikes at the weekend to raise money for charity in memory of a soldier who was killed in Afghanistan.
The ‘Birds Wot Bike’ amateur cyclists peddled a gruelling 50km for Help For Heroes.
The ride also served as a tribute to 26-year-old Lavenham man Lance Corporal Jonathan ‘Jo’ Woodgate, who was killed by an insurgent’s grenade while on foot patrol near Sangin in March 2010.
L/Cpl Woodgate’s father Tony was at the starting line in Hadleigh High Street.
