Creative cakes at Bride: The Wedding Show Westpoint Arena

17 Jun 2016

This autumn sees the return of Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena, Exeter and here's a snippet of what to expect from some of the most creative cake companies in the region.

Take a look at the cake companies exhibiting at this season's Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena from 8th - 9th October 2016.

Sweet Satisfaction, Stand number: 674

This Naked Fresh Berry Cake by Sweet Satisfaction was created for a couple who married at Huntsham Court in Devon. The cake is structured with layers of sponge, a vanilla buttercream and outside frosting. The newlyweds were thrilled with the natural, contemporary yet rustic, look of the cake. It attracted quite a lot of attention from guests - a real show-stopper – and the fruit-lovers amongst them appreciated the healthy decoration.

Boo to a Goose, Stand number: 526

A favourite confection of cake maker, Boo to a Goose, the textured metallic tier gives the cake a modern edge and looks bang on trend. The ruffling and the blossom cascade keep the cake pretty and perfect for a white wedding, with an additional touch of glamour. Adding texture to a cake is so important as it draws the eye to all different parts, making it dynamic and a real talking point on every couple's big day.

Crafty Cakes, Stand number: 617

This stunning cake is both contemporary and eye-catching. A three tiered deep wedding cake covered with matte jet black icing and adorned with an amazingly vibrant sugar flower spray made up of hibiscus, tuberose, bougainville and a string of pearls with purple chilli peppers for a striking finish. Crafty Cakes can tailor-make any flavour combination to every couple's request.

Peboryon, Stand number: 913

Internationally renowned for their creativity, Peboryon specialises in designing and creating luxury wedding cakes. This year they will be bringing La Pedrera, a new cake from their SPACES collection, to Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena. Inspired by the remarkable lines of acclaimed architect Antoni Gaudi’s building in Barcelona, the La Pedrera wedding cake echoes the organic forms of the building’s cast iron gates, the crisp white heat, and golden cactus blooms of Spain. The craftsmanship, design and unique hand carved sugar art offers the discerning couple a uniquely modern and architecturally inspired wedding cake.

Mad Cakes, Stand number: 413

Mad Cakes is a bespoke cake designer, with a desire to create personal wedding cakes for each and every bride and groom. Creating unusual designs with a alternative twist, Mad Cakes promises a show-stopper for Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint Arena 2016, such as this floating fantasy cake that they brought along last year. Using Cake Frame, Mad Cakes crafted a lit up waterfall to add to the romantic theme of the cake, with toadstools, flowers and bride and groom figurines. This year, they have hinted at a superhero theme for their stand stow-shopper.

Maison Cheri, Stand number: 251

Maison Cheri's theme for this year's Bride: The Wedding Show at Westpoint is 'all things vintage and beautiful’. Offering an element of surprise with a mash-up of trends, mixing ‘now’ with vintage, Maison Cheri delivers the wedding party with something to indulge in. Maison Cheri also specialises in gluten free baking, presenting a beautiful cake on both the outside and the inside.

The Cake Lady, Stand number: 201

A multi-award-winning small business with a huge passion for the craft, The Cake Lady caters for all tastes - from simple, elegant, floral or rustic to novelty, gothic, themed or funky. Every wedding is different and The Cake Lady aims to create a unique centrepiece for every wedding day. See this year's show-stopper, akin to this amazing naked cake, on the stand.

Cakes of Paradise, Stand number: 326

Cakes of Paradise aims to create a talking point that will be remembered for years to come. This vision in white serves to make a statement - from the butterflies to the abundant array of flora. Silver finishes and piped detail make this cake stand out for all the right reasons.

Mandy's Classic Cakes, Stand number: 367

Mandy's Classic Cakes aims to turn a dream cake into the centerpiece at your wedding reception - one to be remembered by all and one which tastes just as good as it looks.
