Steeped in history, oozing country charm and in a quaint village location next door to a churchyard, The Black Swan in Helmsley is perhaps the perfect venue for a vintage-style wedding.
The well known coaching inn, which has stood on the marketplace here for 500 years, teamed up with a creative team of wedding professionals, led by York-based Annemarie King, an award-winning photographer, to showcase its vintage credentials.
The shoot which emerged takes the glamorous 1930s as its style reference with a sensuous backless beaded gown, Eden, by Jenny Packham at centre stage, kindly loaned by Andrea Bambridge of Goodramgate in York.
Our model dips her toes in the stream, relaxes in the dining room and takes a stroll in the gardens with her groom.
The bouquet with antique style faded roses, sahara, metallina, cream avalanche, amnesia and astilbe, with elegant feathers was the creation of Liz Wood at Busy Liz’s Floral Design of Kirbymoorside.
The striking make-up and elegant hairstyle of our ‘bride’ model is by award-winning hair and make-up artist Kate Pymm, who based in the North East, works through the UK.
The result is simply stunning. If you’re thinking of creating your own vintage day then there’s certainly the right inspiration for you here.
