The Town Hall Hotel in Bethnal Green, London, is to host a series of calligraphy workshops offering crafty brides and grooms to-be the opportunity to perfect their penmanship ahead of writing invites, place settings, table plans and, of course, those all-important ‘Thank You’ cards.
The class will guide students through the basics of modern calligraphy, from ink flow and pen pressure, to mark making and shapes, and learning the modern alphabet. By the end of the session, you'll be practising free form words and developing your own style. The course includes a calligraphy kit, to keep providing everything required to write. New calligraphers will be ready to put to their skills to practice and put pen to paper ahead of the big day.
What’s Included?
Each class will take place in the hotel’s Corner Room restaurant and includes a two-course lunch and beginner’s calligraphy kit to keep, containing ink, nib, pen and more. Classes will start at 11am with lunch being served at 1.45pm, and will cost £60 per person.
