A unique wedding ceremony took place this Valentine’s Day at Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida, USA. Groom John Martin married his fiancé Anamaria Plumridge in a scuba-diving ceremony at ‘Mavis’s Rescue Hideaway’, a habitat for sea turtles.
The aquarium, which is a popular tourist attraction made famous by the two Dolphin Tale movies starring Morgan Freeman, welcomed the happy couple’s friends and family for the ceremony. John and Anamaria used handy ‘I do’ signs for their vows, and shared their first kiss in the company of an inquisitive turtle.
The venue was chosen due to the couple’s mutual love of the outdoors and water; the groom regularly dives with the aquarium’s recue team, and the couple first bonded over their passion for the ocean. John even proposed to Anamaria while on a sailing adventure.
David Yates, the Clearwater Marine Aquarium’s CEO, said: “The love and passion John and AnaMaria share for the environment, marine life and each other is touching. The opportunity for us to be a part of their special day was an honour for us.”
