Wedding planner, Cristina Salazar, tells us about the couple's big day which took place in February 2021:
Tell us about the couple.
This couple are full of charisma, love, and elegance, simple but with great taste. They met at the beginning of the quarantine, without thinking without imagining it, and in less than six months, they knew that they were for each other and decided to get married.
Did the couple have any special requests for their wedding?
They just wanted their family there, a unique chapel, and love.
Tell us about the venue.
They chose Villa Blanca, a place that exists to tell many love stories. They dreamed of an intimate wedding, with their dearest and closest ones, with a chapel that would make them sigh and remember their love. We found a beautiful chapel, with history and away from everything we experienced in the pandemic, in the middle of the San Ramón cloud forest. Costa Rica is a country that offers a great variety of settings, beaches, volcanoes, waterfalls, forests, reeds, and the beautiful Mariana Chapel. The Mariana Chapel of Villa Blanca Cloud Forest Hotel & Nature Reserve is ideal for weddings as it was the 50th-anniversary wedding gift of former President Rodrigo Carazo. Its unique hand-painted ceramic ceiling depicts the story of the Virgin Mary when Christian missionaries first introduced her to Latin America. La Capilla sits on a grassy knoll overlooking the farm town and Villa Blanca hacienda. The backdrop is the 840 hectare Los Angeles Cloud Forest, with more than 300 species of birds.
How did you come up with the concept of this wedding?
Intimate weddings are seriously stunning, and after the last year, we realized how important they really are. This romantic wedding at Villa Blanca Cloud Forest and Nature Reserve proves just how gorgeous they can be, especially with these beautiful backdrops.
Once they chose the chapel and contrasted it with the vegetation of the place, the color palette was very fresh and classic, green, gold and white. Gold in details and candlelight, green in foliage, especially eucalyptus, and white in delicate pinks and carnations. With them, the process was really very simple, they just wanted to dance, a place to remember, some excellent photographers who would capture that day to the fullest, and their guests smiling nearby.
What traditions were part of this wedding?
Ritual of the cake - they shared a piece with each other, so that love and food always abound in their home and marriage.
