Cheshire's prestgious Combermere Abbey was recently announced as 'Best Wedding Venue' in the 2016 Hudson Heritage Awards
Combermere Abbey in Cheshire recently scooped the ‘Best Wedding Venue’ accolade at the 2016 Hudson Heritage Awards.
Held at The Goldsmith’s Hall in London on 1 March, the lunchtime ceremony was presented by historian Dan Cruikshank, and comprised 10 categories. The awards were judged by an independent panel which was chaired by Norman Hudson OBE and included TV presenter and author, Lucinda Lambton.
Beating off stiff competition from the other shortlisted venues, Combermere Abbey came out on top in its category – a very timely announcement as the venue has recently undergone a £2million restoration and development project which has implemented a new bridal suite.
Sarah Callander Beckett, owner of Combermere Abbey, commented: “We are over the moon with this award. Hudson’s do such fabulous work to support our national treasures and so it’s our pleasure to be recognised by them as one of Britain’s elite heritage businesses, especially so in light of the Abbey’s recent restoration work.”
Born from the success of publisher Hudson’s specialist heritage titles, the Hudson Heritage Awards have been established since 2011 and seek to find the best heritage venues across the UK.
