Five classic colour schemes for 2019 weddings

03 Jan 2019

Sleek and modern or soft and romantic, there’s a colour scheme to suit every couple in 2019

Deciding on your wedding venue is one of the first challenges all brides face and deciding how to dress and decorate it are the next tasks on the list.

Choosing signature shades to punctuate your décor, floral arrangements and the bridal party’s outfits will make all those later decisions much simpler – and add a touch of you and your partner’s personalities throughout the celebrations.

As couples continue to experiment with different tones and get creative with textures we’re expecting to see more statement colour schemes in 2019. Here are just a few of our favourites to inspire you in the coming year.

Greenery

Whether you stick to natural tones or opt for brighter shades, greenery is a firm favourite in the wedding colour scheme rankings. Bring the outdoors in with trailing table arrangements or trees lining the aisle of your ceremony. It’s also a good choice for grooms who aren’t keen on the more traditional navy or black options for suits too.

Living Coral

Living Coral was named Pantone’s Colour of the Year 2019 and dedicated Instagram accounts and Pinterest boards have been popping up ever since. As a warm, bright shade it’s perfect for spring and summer weddings – and for a trend-led take on seasonal displays mix it throughout autumnal floral arrangements. Add it to richer reds and oranges as a highlight tone in winter décor.

Accent Metallic

For a chic and glamorous look, metallic is the way to go. Whether it’s a subtle rose gold or striking silver, experiment with metallic details on everything from the cake to balloons and even the place settings. And if you know there will be sparkling embellishments on your dress, then metallic hints throughout your décor, stationery and bridal party outfits will bring all those details together.

Neutrals

For a simple and timeless look, warm earthy tones are a modern way to dress a rustic wedding. Use a range of colours across your venue and mix and match shades.  Or for a sleek contemporary design, stick to black and white contrasts with varying shades of grey for finer details to soften this classic look.

Blush Pink

As millennial pink continues to top the colour charts, it’s no surprise that blush pink has quickly become a firm favourite for brides-to-be. Soft and romantic, bouquets of pink blooms and centrepieces are a favoured choice – with pale candles and sparkles dotted throughout your displays to make for a fairytale setting.
